The early eighties

In 1982 during my senior year at the Center for Creative Studies, I was awarded a residency at the New York Studio School in Greenwich Village. At this point in my work I had already move on from academic and traditional techniques. I was more excited about what the city of New York might bring to my work than I was about the teachings at the school.

In 1983 I moved back to Detroit to graduate from the Center for Creative Studies.
